Dr. Magdi Hassan "The Chairman of Drug Holding Company " announces that the local Panadol is 50% less priced than the exported one. This declaration was published in "Al Alam El-youm" newspaper exclusively. He also declared that Alex Co. the producer of  Panadol in Egypt is willing to manufacture another 17 products from Panadol brands to cover all the therapeutic forms including syrups, suppositories, and tablets, this will be done gradually through the next 3 years. The forecasted sales from these expected products will exceed L.E. 220 million  which is almost equals to the current sales of all Alexandria's products.

Dr. Hassan disclaimed any negative effect that may face the sales of other similars produced by other affiliated companies, pointing that exported Panadol was already marketed illegally since long time and it may be counterfeited, this illegal market forced MOH in Egypt  to take the decision of registering any medicine as soon as it has a market niche and needed by the consumers otherwise its trading will be stopped completely. So, Holdipharma took the advantage of this decision and start to register these important products from their innovators, starting with Aspirin "Bayer", and Panadol of (Glaxo), even it has its own facility here in Egypt, but GSK preferred to manufacture it in Alex. Co., after the Installation of its manufacturing equipments, and importing its Pharmaceutical raw materials needed for manufacturing process.

Dr. Hassan said that the selling price/ pack varies between L.E. 7-14 for the locally manufactured one compared to the exported one between L.E. 14- 28, i.e. half the price.
